Dance Victoria has an ambitious long-term vision, approved in September 2008 by the Society’s Board of Directors
In 15 years (2023), Dance Victoria will operate from a complex that has offices, two or three dance studios (accessible to the public) and will offer creation/production residencies year-round to local, national and international dance artists. The organization will continue to program a vital annual presentation series in the fall and spring and every second summer will produce an international festival that makes Victoria a destination for dance.
This season, Dance Victoria has engaged the services of independent consultant Gina Sufrin to help develop a five-year strategy towards realizing this vision. Dance Victoria Society has the following mandate:
Present an annual subscription dance series, offering discounts and additional benefits to subscribers and to undertake lecture demonstrations, forums, open rehearsals, master classes and other like activities to educate and encourage public appreciation and interest in dance.
