In 2007/08 we have it all – all three of the brilliant ballets created by the legendary Tchaikovsky/Petipa partnership and the quintessential romantic ballet Giselle, performed by one of the world's leading ballet companies, our own National Ballet of Canada. Three of our ballets feature live orchestras including the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and of course the family holiday favourite, Nutcracker.
We are also very excited to partner with Global Arts Ltd. to bring Yoruba Andabo's Rumba de l”Habana direct from Havana
For the contemporary dance enthusiast, it's a fantastic year to subscribe. Les Ballets jazz de Montreal have a new work that is passionate and sexy that combines the heat and texture of tango with the expressive freedom of contemporary dance. Montreal's Rubberbandance Group fuses gritty street/club dancing with Vivaldi's strings. And the mad, brilliant Compagnie Marie Chouinard's innovative deconstruction of ballet has provoked and thrilled audiences around the world.
