The How To's
- Pre-Show Chat: Every Dance Victoria presentation has a pre-show chat in the theatre lobby prior to the performance. We invite a member of the company to talk about their experience dancing, choreographing or even touring the performance you’re about to see. Our pre-show chats begin about 45 minutes prior to curtain and are free to all ticket holders.
- Ticket Exchanges/Snow Policy: Winter may be beautiful, but it can present travel issues for ticket holders. In the great tradition of the theatre, the show does go on despite snow or sleet or unsanded streets. Dance Victoria, unfortunately does not control the elements and is committed to honoring its performance calendar.
All ticket sales, including tickets for The Nutcracker are final. There are no refunds or exchanges.
If patrons cannot attend a performance, for whatever reason, they may donate tickets back to Dance Victoria and receive a charitable tax receipt for the full amount (less service charges). Tickets must be donated back to Dance Victoria 72 hours before curtain time.
Dance Victoria subscribers are invited to phone Dance Victoria directly at 250-595-1829 to discuss ticket exchanges. Again, we ask that Dance Victoria be provided with sufficient lead time (at least 72 hours) in order to satisfy subscriber requests.
- Box Office Policies: The Royal and McPherson Box Offices operate under agreement with Dance Victoria and have blanket policies to cover the vast number of performances they sell. If you have a situation or question that is specific to Dance Victoria, please call us directly. We are happy to work with the Box Office to accommodate your special requests.
- Perfume/Cologne/Scented Deodorants: Many people have sensitivities to scents. Some are allergic to the chemicals that combine to create these perfumes. A heavily hair-sprayed patron can ruin the evening (and sometimes the next few days) for people in neighbouring seats. Leave the scents in the cabinet.
- Babes in Arms: Unfortunately, a young child is unpredictable and a sudden outburst can be disruptive to other patrons. So here’s the rule – Dance Victoria does not permit any child under the age of four to attend any performance.
- Latecomers: Latecomer seating varies per performance. In most cases we hold a number of seats in the back of the auditorium to accommodate latecomers. If you’re late you’ll be seated here until intermission when you’ll be able to move to the seats you purchased. Sometimes, however, shows sell out and if you’re late, you could be asked to wait in the lobby for 15 or 20 minutes before being seated. Best policy: Don’t be late. Allow plenty of time for parking.
- No photos. No text messaging. Turn off your cell phones. You know why.
