Allegro Performing Arts Centre provides a positive and professional environment for students to learn about dance, as well as self-discipline. Over the years, we have developed one of the finest and most diverse performing arts programs offered in the Victoria area. Students are given the opportunity to participate in festivals, exams, conventions, master classes with guest teachers, and of course in the year-end recital.

Oriental bellydance, classical Egyptian and Turkish stylings, Shaabi (Egyptian pop, fusion of styles) and award-winning choreography. We have specific classes for women over 50, young teens, and large women. New feature class this fall: folkloric-style Middle Eastern dance for men, taught by Nath Keo.

We teach and choreograph authentic folk dances from Hungary and Transylvania, for stage performance and improvisation.

STAGES classes are taught by experienced teachers, choreographers and adjudicators. Their varied experience makes ours one of the most comprehensive faculties and training facilities in Victoria. All of our faculty have professional experience performing and/or teaching in their field, having worked with the likes of Janet Jackson, Weird Al Yankovich, Dick Clark as well as having directed shows in New York, performed on four International Cruise Lines, or trained and/or performed with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Alberta Ballet, Les Grande Ballets, Tap Dogs, the National Ballet of Canada, and local performance credits with the Victoria Operatic Society and Four Seasons Musical Theatre, as well as having film and television credits.

School of Latin Dance: Cuban-style dance performance group - Salsa Moderna

The Island Thyme English Morris Dancers have been sharing the ancient ritual folk dances of England with Victoria audiences since 1987. The women's side perform garland dances from the English northwest, and stick and handkerchief dances from the Cotswold region. The men's side do stick dances from the Welsh-English border region.

The group Kariatis was formed 27 years ago by Karia Leschke and performed at Millos (Greek) Restaurant every weekend for about 10 years. In July 2005, the group travelled to Bulgaria to study Bulgarian and Macedonian dance at the Balkanfolk camp.

Since 1991, Alma de Espana has been dedicated to offering the best in traditional flamenco instruction and performance. The fully-equipped, intimate studio, near Quadra Village, is home to the professional touring company, under the direction of Veronica Maguire and Harry Owen. Exciting shows include passionate music, song and dance.

Based in Esquimalt, the school consists of both competitive and recreational dancers. Students are also prepared for SDTA exams. Past performances include the Military Tattoo, Robbie Burns functions, Folkfest and the school Ceilidh.

Karen Clark Dance Studio was established in 1988. Three studios offering dancers a professional setting, with full sound systems, sprung dance floors, mirrors and bars. We offer performance and recreation classes for all ages and all levels, including adults.

The Sons of Norway "Leikarring" folk dance group invites those interested in learning, preserving and performing ethnic dances, towards promoting the Norwegian culture. We meet Tuesdays at Norway House, 1110 Hillside Avenue, from 7:30PM to 9:30PM. The dancers wear HARDANGER costumes during performance. The group formed in 1947, so in 2007 it will celebrate its 60th anniversary.

Traditional Punjabi dance with a core focus on Bhangra and Giddha; however we have incorporated many variations of dance, such as hip-hop, Indian classical dance, cheer-leading, jazz, ribbon dancing and other creative elements. We teach dance technique, stage performance, and teamwork in a fun, safe and friendly environment.

VRG has offered recreational, competitive and performance rhythmic gymnastics programs for children, teens and adults in Greater Victoria for over 20 years, promoting a friendly learning atmosphere with an emphasis on achieving personal bests, and working as a team.

Euro Studios is home to professional dance companies, production companies, theatre troupes, recording producers, DJs and bands. Move This! Dance Studio will be in its second season come September 2011. Our studio, although young, will strive to bring quality dance instruction to the youth in Sooke and surrounding areas. Move This! Dance Studio focuses on teaching not just the body, but equally the brain and heart.

The studio is in an elementary school gymnasium with 30 feet of mirrors and a wonderful sound system. There are playrooms for sibling while parents wait for their children, plus two wonderful outdoor playgrounds. The school is small and family oriented, with the focus on building up the students, emotionally, spiritually and physically. In all levels, the student will be given opportunity to enjoy the freedom of dance, as well as learning the discipline of technique.

From beginner to professional training, Sacred Centre Dance offers one of Canada's most comprehensive curriculum for Middle Eastern, North African and World Fusion dance. The Studio offers weekly classes, private and semi-private lessons and workshops, as well as festivals and many other events throughout the year.

At Passion and Performance we believe that adults can enhance their sensuality and fitness through dance. We hold true to this belief by offering classes with two unique focuses regardless of a dancer's skill level, gender, or age.

Arabesque Dance Studio offers classical ballet instruction to students from introductory to advanced levels. Students perform in a year-end recital as well as other small performances. Examinations are available in the Cecchetti method. Class Sizes are limited to ensure students receive personal attention. Tango Fusion teaches non-traditional open embrace Argentine tango danced to modern electric tango music or non-tango pop music. It freely borrows from other music and dance styles, and deliberately breaks the tango "rules" to create a dynamic and youthful approach. We have taught at numerous venues in Victoria and across Vancouver Island since 2005, including UVic, Camosun, Courtenay, Comox, Black Creek and Campbell River.
